Road Trip With Mommy!

So after Christmas I spent about a week going through lots of my stuff, visiting with friends and family before I wasn't going to see them for a while and packing up my car...Here was the result.

Can you believe I fit that much stuff into my car? Thank goodness for space saver bags!

Mommy and I started out at about 1:00 in the afternoon after making a quick stop at the storage unit that will be holding all of my belongings for a while. Now...anybody that knows my mom and I knows how much we love to argue. I can safely say that we both made it to Florida alive! LOL! We also didn't do too bad on our trip either. We spent about the first 3 hours of the trip arguing and that was about it. That must have gotten it out of our system. We stopped for dinner that night in a town I can't remember (I feel as though I should...oh well!). Any ways...I do remember that we ate at the Crazy Hibachi Company (yes this is a real restaurant), and it was delicious! Until we discovered that I locked the keys in the car. I know this doesn't come as a surprise to any of you...thankfully Mommy signed me up for AAA right before we left so we were back on the road in about an hour, after Mommy had a relaxing cocktail of course. We made it to Memphis that night where we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

The next morning we awoke with plans to go to the zoo in Memphis, however, we had not anticipated it to be 20 degrees. Unfortunately we packed for Florida so doing something outdoors was out of the question. After some breakfast and discussion we decided we were going to head straight for Thomasville, Georgia that day. A place we planned in our road trip from the beginning, and boy am I happy we did!

After driving all day we arrived at the most beautiful Bed and Breakfast ever! We quickly ran our bags to our room and made our way to Jonah's. An adorable little local restaurant with amazing food!

Let me show you just a few pictures of the amazing place we stayed at!

The next morning we woke up to a homemade hot breakfast. Warm biscuits with blackberry preserves and egg souffle. Yum!

After chatting with the innkeeper for a bit, Mommy and I headed upstairs, got ready and headed out to spend the day together. Our first stop was Wal-Mart because we were freezing and needed a sweater and a pair of close toed shoes. Then we headed to the Plantation in Thomasville. I can't even describe to you how beautiful it was, and we had our own little private tour. Let me just show you some photos.

After taking a tour of the plantation Mommy and I headed back into town where we stopped by to see the town's 325 year old Live Oak tree. This tree is so big that the town is literally doing everything they can to support its limbs because they are too heavy for the tree to hold up itself.

Mommy and I walked through the town a bit after that and did a little shopping for all the kiddos in Naples. Finally we headed over to the local cheese shop to try some wine and cheeses. Most of the cheeses were actually locally made right there in Thomasville. It was Yummy!

Finally we ended our night once again at Jonah's. We decided we needed to have it again because everybody in town said it was the best. Once again I'm glad we did. Mommy and I split a grouper dish and it might have been the best fish dish I have ever had!

When we got back to the inn we decided to grab the help and watch that together before we headed to bed. All in all it was a great bonding day for Mommy and I and we had a really good time. I was glad we were able to spend some good quality time together not in the car, LOL!, before I was dropped off in Orlando. The next morning we left super early from the inn and made our way towards Naples so we could be home before the kids got out of school!

Conclusion: Awesome road trip with Mommy!

I had a wonderful time too Heath. I'm so glad you captured our trip with photos. Did we completely forget to take photos of ourselves on the trip too? Oh well, I guess we have our memories! I think Crazy Hibatchi Co. was in Little Rock Arkansas, wasn't it? The Bed and Breakfast and the sites of Thomasville was an experience I am so grateful we were able to share together. I had a lovely time in that charming town. It was a perfect Mother and daughter bonding time. Thanks for sharing such a special time with me. I miss it and I miss you. xoxo
