So Arielle and I spent days trying to find some bedding that we both liked that matched. Not that we needed matching bedding but we thought if it did match it would look really pretty and of course we would have the coolest looking bedroom at Cumberland. Arielle is a big fan of purple so I was trying to find something similar to what she might like. We finally came to a decision and they both came in!

Arielle's is on the left and mine is on the right. I think they are going to look really pretty together in the room. Arielle has even talked about putting up some fairy lights in the room. It's going to look so pretty!

So Thanksgiving came and went and I was able to enjoy the company of one of my best friends Luz! She flew in on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and she stayed until the Sunday after! It was so much fun sharing our family traditions with her! Wednesday when she flew in I introduced her to Noodles and Company and Cocoa Dolce. I'm pretty sure she enjoyed both. :) Luz even bought some chocolates to bring back to her parents.

Then Luz and I spent the day making pumpkin pies which she and I had never done before. We both tried Pumpkin pie for the first time that Thanksgiving and I think we both found a new holiday treat we like.
Wednesday night dad took us to a Wichita Thunder Hockey game. Probably the best I had seen all season! They were playing the Missouri Mavericks (their rivals) and there were a total of three fights! It was awesome! We even got to play hockey bingo which was great. Luz and I both learned more about hockey that day then we ever had before. It definitely got us really into the game.

Thursday was Thanksgiving of course! Grandma Jan decorated the table and mom made a pretty center piece for us to enjoy. Dinner was amazing as always. Thanks Mommy! I hope Luz enjoyed it. The food was a little more traditional than she was used to.

I guess we need to teach Grandma Jan how to use her camera. That picture of Luz and I is a little blurry. LOL! Anyway...Later that night Catherine and Frankie went to Catherine's parents house to spend Thanksgiving with her family as well. They said they had a good time. I was jealous. Two Thanksgiving dinners...guess I need to find a man. That way I can have two dinners as well. Daddy ended the evening playing some songs for us on his guitar.
Friday Luz and I spent some quality time together just the two of us. We woke up and got ready and went to the movies to see Hugo. If you wondering by the way...it was awesome! The most beautiful movie I've ever seen. And we saw it in 3D. I actually think it was pretty than the 3D Avatar. We then went and got our toes done together! Mommy let us have her appointment. Thanks again Mommy! After our toe appointment we went to the movies again! It was cold out and we only had boots on so we went to the movies in our little disposable flip flops that the salon gave us and watched Breaking Dawn while our toes dried. :) Breaking Dawn actually wasn't too bad as far as the Twilight movies go. It wasn't the best movie I've seen but I enjoyed it. Let's face it I love vampires and who doesn't like seeing a half naked Taylor Lautner on a big screen. It was a great day.
Saturday was busy but fun. My mom invited Catherine's family over for a brunch and we enjoyed getting to know her parents and brothers and sisters. The food was great and we all played games and socialized the rest of the afternoon. I hope her family enjoyed it. They seemed as though they did. We had a really good time getting to know them.
Later that evening Luz and I met up with another one of my best friends Kim. I talk about both Luz and Kim to each other all the time so naturally I wanted them to meet each other. We had a couple of delicious drinks and appetizers at Cheddar's. So delicious! I hope Kim and Luz got along. They seemed as though they did. I enjoyed it.
Luz and I then came home early and tried to watch a movie we had started a few nights ago. The 10th Kingdom! If you know Frankie and I at all you know it is one of our favorites however it is about 6 1/2 hours long.
Sunday of course it was time for Luz to go home. Unfortunately her flight was changed so she had to leave earlier in the day. :( But we woke up and packed her up and managed to finish the 10th Kingdom which was a stroke of luck. Luz really liked this scarf she borrowed from me while she was here so I let her take it with her. I mean hey...I am only going to be about 3 hours away once I move so I can get it back anytime. Can't wait to be living close to her once again! I parked at the airport and we enjoyed a snack together while we said goodbye. It was a little sad but the truth is I am going to be seeing her again in about a month when I drive down to Florida and then we can get together whenever we both have a day off from work because we will be so close. We no longer need a plane to see each other!

Day 30
Your Favorite Theme Park Show:
Fantasmic!
Alright...This is the end of my challenge and I couldn't be happier than to end it with Fantasmic! Every time I watch this show I get goosebumps. Fantasmic represents everything that Disney is about. Overcoming evil, dreams and hopes, wishes, and magic! I am not going to spoil it for any of you who have not seen it but if you haven't...it is a must at Disney!
Runner Up: Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 29
Your Favorite Theme Park Attraction:
Okay, so this is waaaaay to difficult to choose just one. Therefore I will give you my favorite from each park.
Magic Kingdom:
Splash Mountain
I love getting on this ride and experiencing the entire story it has to offer. I always have a good time. One night during magic hours I'm pretty sure my brother and I rode this about 10 times in a row. They never made us get off, it was a blast!
Runner Up: It's a three way toss up between Mickey's Philar Magic, Peter Pan's Flight, and The Laugh Floor.
Epcot:
Spaceship Earth

This has been one of my favorite rides since I was little and will remain that way forever!
Runner Up: Test Track
Hollywood Studios:
Rockin Roller Coaster
This ride is a blast! I am a huge roller coaster fan, and you can't beat one that blasts awesome Aerosmith tunes while you are upside down!
Runner Up: Tower of Terror. To this day it still scares me.
Animal Kingdom:
Everest
I know. Everybody thought I was going to choose the Safari on this one, and I do love the Safari, but as a said before I am a huge fan of roller coasters, and this roller coaster rocks! It is so much fun! I love how it starts up nice and then gets spooky, all the while running from the Yeti, while traveling backwards, in the dark!
Runner Up: The Kilimanjaro Safari. Let's face it...I am the "animal" girl.
Tell me about your favorite rides!
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 28
Your Favorite Theme Park:
Epcot
I love every theme park but I think Epcot wins my favorite. It not only has many of my favorite rides including Test Track, Soarin and Spaceship Earth, but also has all of the countries. I love spending an afternoon just walking around the countries, getting some drinks and amazing food, catching a couple of boat rides. :) Can you say Wine and Food Festival? My favorite time of year at Disney!
Honorable Mention: Animal Kingdom. Definitely have to give a shout out to the park where I will be spending my work days! So beyond excited!!!

Day 27
Your Favorite Movie Quote:
You think the only people who are people, are the people who look and think like you. But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew. - Pocahontas
Pocahontas teaches us about tolerance and the importance of the environment. She teaches us to see beyond what is just in front of us and think of the bigger outcome. She teaches us to listen with our hearts and that sometimes the right path, is not always the easiest path. I think this quote inspires everyone to be a better person.
What are some of your favorite quotes?

Day 26
Saddest Death:
Mufasa's Death
There is nothing worse than losing a parent, but then Simba thinks that he is responsible for his father's death. Then Scar convinces him to run away and never return home. Simba then lives a large portion of his life believing he is the one that killed his father, so although he is living a wonderful life, he is constantly shadowed with guilt. I can't think of a more devastating Disney death than this one.
Honorable Mention: Ellie in Up. First we have to see Ellie's heart broken when she can't have children and then we watch her get sick before she ever gets to have her adventure. I do like that her words inspire Carl even after she is gone though.
What death do you think is the saddest?
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 25
Your Favorite Scene From Your Favorite Movie:
Simba Takes His Place as King
This scene sends shivers down my spine. As Simba ascends Pride Rock, he takes his place as king, and roars for all to hear, which stops the rain and allows the Pridelands to come to life once again. I love how the music picks up as the sun slowly rises across the horizon, showing the audience that a new era has come and all is right again.
Runner Up: Maleficent's transformation to a dragon. This is where Maleficent proves she is definitely the baddest villain of all.
This is a tough one. Which scenes are your favorites?
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 24
A Movie That Makes You Cry:
Toy Story 3
I hadn't cried during a Disney movie in a long time...and then I saw Toy Story 3. This scene had a flood running down my face, but of course Disney had a great comical way of relieving me of the mass amount of sadness I was feeling.
Runner Up: The Lion King. The stampede gets me every time.
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 23
A Movie That Makes You Laugh:
The Emperor's New Groove
This movie puts me in stitches every time I watch it! The villains are funnier than the main characters and there are jokes thrown around left and right. Plus, I'm sure we can all agree that Kronk is the funniest character ever! He creates his own theme music to creep around too, makes spinach puffs, and...speaks squirrel!
Honorable Mention: Up. I know it has some sad parts in it but Russell, Dug, and Kevin always have a way of making me laugh.
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 22
An Underrated movie:
Meet the Robinsons
Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths. - Walt Disney
I LOVE this movie! I don't think it got nearly enough credit for the amazing lesson it taught! And it was hilarious to boot. I tear up every time I watch the end of this movie and Little Wonders starts to play. All the characters in this story realize that all they need to do is "Keep Moving Forward" and everything will work out the way it's supposed to in the end. Never give up on your dreams, someday you will achieve them.
Anyone have an underrated favorite?
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 21
An overrated movie:
High School Musical
Gotta say..not sure what all the hype was about the High School Musical phenomenon but it wasn't for me. A bunch of kids singing and dancing their way through high school and their issues just didn't appeal to me.
Anybody got a Disney movie they think is overrated?
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 20
Your Favorite Sequel:
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride
Disney hasn't really hit a home run when it comes to sequels, however, I am such a big fan of this one. I really enjoyed the soundtrack, and let's face it. Kovu is so cute! I'm pretty sure I wanted a Lion to be my boyfriend when this movie came out. LOL!
Runner Up: The Lion King 1 1/2. I really enjoyed hearing Timon and Pumba's goofy side of The Lion King. That duo cracks me up.
Anybody know of a sequel that was awesome and I couldn't think of it?
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 19
Your Least Favorite Pixar Film:
Cars
Again I hate associating anything Disney with least favorite, however if I had to pick something it would have to be Cars. Not because I don't like it, I just like it less than the others. I guess the movie was just a little to country for my tastes. In it's defense though, Mater always manages to make me laugh. I love the scene where he and Lightning McQueen tip the tractors.
No Runner Up for this one. Does anybody have a Pixar film they don't like. I also haven't seen Cars 2 but I heard from Tristen, my friend Patty's son, that it was better than the first, and I have to say...if I need a great opinion on a Disney movie, I ask the 3 year old! :)
30 Day Disney Challenge
Day 18
Your Favorite Pixar Film:
Finding Nemo
So this was a huge toss up between Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Up but my love for marine life and Dori finally won out in the end. The first time I saw Finding Nemo I couldn't help but notice how beautiful it was. Seeing all the wonderful marine creatures I studied and admired in school swimming across the screen, telling me an unforgettable story and constantly making me laugh...I was hooked. Who doesn't love a film that teaches you to speak whale? (An extremely valuable skill might I add.) I will never forget the time I sat down with my little cousin Theo to watch this movie. Now we all know that the first 5 minutes are extremely sad. Right after the eel attacked Marlin's family Theo looked up at me and said..."Coral gone." It almost brought tears to my eyes. I'll never forget that. The lesson this movie teaches to all children can stay with them forever, and with a catchy tune..."Just keep swimming!"
Runner Up: Wall-E. I love Wall-E and Eve's relationship and the conservationist in me loves the message this movie teaches us, plus Mo makes the list of some of my top 10 favorite characters.
Okay everybody I am apologizing. Things have been busy these last couple of weeks but I'm back and ready to blog. Lots of stuff has been going on and I will update you on all of it but first let me catch you up on the wonderful 30 day challenge!
