I apologize but there are no updates for April. This has been a bad month and I am officially putting in a request to have it wiped from all calenders. The End.
So a few big things have happened since I last talked to everybody. The first is that I was able to meet one of the most important people in my field. Dr. Anne Savage is the head Conservation Biologist for Disney's Animal Kingdom and she took time out of her busy schedule to come and talk to all of the Presenters. I was so excited and nervous I was shaking!! She did take a picture with me which was so nice of her. Here is Dr. Savage and I with the beautiful Cotton-Top Tamarin dolls they make in Columbia to help support the animal itself. If you have never heard of a Cotton-Top Tamarin you should definitely look them up. They are adorable little 1 pound monkeys that can only be seen out in the wild in Northwest Columbia! They just went onto the critically endangered list so I encourage all of you to learn about them while you still can!
The next big thing that happened to me was that my bestie Ashley came into town! We had such a blast together! We went to Epcot, Islands of Adventure (I got to take Ashley to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the first time!), Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. Then we spent the rest of the week hanging out after we both got done with work at her fancy hotel, The Peabody! Ashley and I had a great week! I missed her so much! And I was so happy I got the share those memories with her.
Right after Ashley left I had one more big thing happen to me. I had my interview for my next internship for Conservation Education over at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and at the Animal Kingdom. I am feeling very positive about my interview but I am going up against the best of the best so hopefully I stood out.
That's about all that's happened so far. I don't find out about the next internship until the end of April. Everybody cross your fingers for me! Miss all of you that I haven't seen in a while and thank you everyone for all the support you've given me so far.
Oh and P.S. everybody route for my Jayhawks! They are officially in the Final 4! Rock Chalk Jayhawk Go KU!!!!
Okay it's official. I am sick. I have no voice and all of my bones are achy. :(
I am boiling water as we speak for some noodle soup and tea and calling it an early night by taking a book and heading to bed.
We have a park wide meeting tomorrow morning so we all have to be there by 7:15. The Vice President of Animal Kingdom wishes to speak to everybody. I think he is passing on a message from Mickey! :)
This morning was really great. We started our mentor meetings today. Colleen is my mentor and I think I am really going to enjoy having her as my mentor. We made some goals for ourselves for the semester, talked about some really great things and she even brought us a healthy breakfast! Yogurt with granola and berries!
Well wish me luck tomorrow. Hopefully I will have a voice again otherwise I am not sure what I am going to do!
Have a great night everybody!

So the Patriots didn't win, but the Giants did! I am disappointed and proud all at the same time. Eli was even at Magic Kingdom to celebrate. Yay!
I had a wonderful little girl today who asked me for my autograph! I was so excited! Nobody's ever asked me before. I had to think quickly so I could write her a good message. I told Avery to Stay Wild and then signed my name and where she visited me. It was great. She made my day!
After work we headed to the Magic Kingdom to once again try out the new Sorcerer's game. It is awesome and I won't spoil all the fun surprises that come with playing it but it is a new must do at Magic Kingdom. I have defeated 3 villains so far and am on my way to defeating my 4th.
Hope everyone is having a good week and I'll talk to you later!

So today Alyssa and I decided to take a trip to Animal Kingdom and visit Arielle while she was working. We watched her help some kids track a wild animal through Africa and Alyssa got a great tour around Animal Kingdom from me! :) We mostly relaxed, observed a lot of the animals while I explained all of their really neat traits and behaviors to Alyssa, and just did a few rides. Everest, Dinosaur (wish I had the picture from that. Alyssa's face was great!), and It's Tough to Be a Bug. Then we ventured through the shops.
Then we headed to Wal-Mart. Overall it was a good day.
Now I am 3 minutes from the end of the Super Bowl and Patriots are only up by 2. It's turning into a repeat of Super Bowl '07. Hopefully it won't end the same.
Next Friday I have a meeting with Michelle to discuss my future with Disney. I have a few internships picked out that I am going to apply for and hopefully some positions will open up so I can apply for those as well. :)
Wish me luck and Go Patriots!
